Xception is a professional variety cover band from Tucson, AZ. Xception is ready to perform at clubs, parties, weddings, or any other event with a unique blend of Classic Rock, Country, R&B, Blues, and Pop.

Tammie has loved singing for as long as
she can remember. She began singing with a band
“Gas Food and Lodging” from 1995-1997. Tammie wrote and recorded music from 1995-2008 and joined a recovery
band called Squeaky Clean (2007-2012) - playing mostly covers with some originals. Tammie auditioned for a band she found on BandMix in August of 2014, which
became the Xception. Tammie would not
call herself a “front” woman, but leading this band has invited Tammie to do what she does best... CONNECT! Tammie’ s strong suit is her
ability to connect with people and the song and she bridges the two Xceptionally! [Image by Kristi Harris Photography]

The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet.

In the haze of the Tucson sunset, where the cacti lean just slightly out of tune, one name echoes through the dive bars and dancefloors of southern Arizona: Garrett Hall — the enigma, the groove architect, the one who holds the band together through nothing but sheer low-frequency determination.
But it wasn’t always easy. Born with rhythm in one hand and a burrito in the other, Garrett began his bass journey after a fateful day in middle school band when every other instrument was taken. From humble beginnings in a garage in Tempe, Arizona to commanding the stage at the House of Bards on Speedway, his destiny was clear — to provide the notes nobody notices, but everyone would miss.
Bandmates describe Garrett as “quiet… almost too quiet,” a shadowy presence lurking behind the amps, holding the groove hostage until the chorus lands. Others speak of his legendary stage… “bass face” — an expression so stoic, entire audiences have mistaken it for indifference.
The late-night rehearsals. The endless debate over setlists. The heartbreak of realizing another bar still doesn’t pay in real money — all of it sculpted Garrett into the low-end groove merchant that Tucson never asked for but somehow got anyway.
Today, after countless gigs, bourbon on the rocks, and battles with unruly sound engineers, Garrett stands in his rightful place: stage left, semi-visible, holding it all down while the guitarist takes solo number seven. And though fame never came, the groove still does! [Image by Kristi Harris Photography]

Ed has played drums since he was 5 years old. In addition to drums, he can also
sing and play guitar. Ed has played with
too many bands to name, but one
in particular was Cosmic Slop, an original
funk band from Tucson, AZ. They were the
opening act for George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic. Ed has toured, recorded & has
done session work. Xception fits his style best as the variety of music the band plays showcases his versatility. [Image by Kristi Harris Photography]
